I just found out that the Pokémon anime has a canonical, in-universe explanation for sprite recycling, and I’m not sure how I feel about that.

The reason that every Pokémon centre has an identical attendant is because there’s a single extended family whose women all look eerily similar that holds a virtual monopoly on the profession of “Pokémon nurse”.
Like, this isn’t fanon. It’s an explicit plot point in several episodes. One of them even brings her daughters to work at one point, and, well:
And they aren’t even the only case of this happening - the anime establishes that there are like four or five other families with similar rackets going.

and Rose is fascinated by the Gods of the Furthest Ring because she heard the horrorterrors whispering in her sleep
and Dave likes music because it’s cool I guess
